In my last post I mentioned that that golf traffic was a tad lighter at Kokanee this season than last season. Well forget that.. the dog days of summer are over and we're moving into fall in full force. It seems the traffic has picked up substantially and now with the best time of the year approaching the course is busier than ever. There are a lot of happy faces out there... the grass is green and days are cooler and the golf course is playing fantastic. We're able to dry things out a bit this time of year and this means more roll on the drives and the putts. I have to apologize to the gentleman in the middle of the 17th fairway who I accidentally hit up to yesterday. The ball rolled up to his feet after flying 275 yards in the air and rolling another 50 - it was a career shot -usually I'm in the creek.
Bunker progress is moving along - by the start of next week we will be finished with #1 and on to #2. When we're done with #1 I'll shoot some sweet photos to show the full aesthetic impact on the awesome starting hole. Feedback is great - ev erybody likes the sand and how it plays.
The Kokanee open is fast approaching - only 2 weeks to go. We're going to be busy getting the course in tournament condition with fast greens and firm fairways and lush rough. Last year the weather was incredible 27 degrees both days. I'm planning on playing in it this year and hope at least show well for my 'ahem' 8 handicap. Maybe they'll put me in the first flight so I have a chance.
